Are you hoping to use Statecraft soon, but are unsure as to how it works? Are you currently using Statecraft and want to learn how to better implement a simulation in your class? Do you want to gain CPE hours toward your teaching certificate?
Statecraft Implementation Course focuses on instructors to improve student attendance and achievements.
Two Training sections
The Statecraft Implementation Course is divided up into two separate sections: Classroom Implementation; Simulation Training. The second section builds on the foundational knowledge from the first and gives instructors as chance to dive into the student side of the simulation. how it works
Easy Set-up & Launch
- We partner with schools, school districts, regional education districts, and states to create accessible CPE training for you and your colleagues. A cohort requires at least 10 instructors using the same simulation and preferably teaching the same course to maximize the connectivity to course standards.
- Once we zero in on a specific partnership based on a instructor in need, we coordinate a training that fits the needs of that group.
- We work with the partner to choose the best mode of training whether it be in-person, online, or hybrid and then customize the training to fit the course needs of the instructors.
- After deciding a date, we open the training to those within the partners boundaries and recruit for a minimum of 10 instructors.
- The week prior to training, instructors who are signed up will receive all the information needed to prepare for the training. These hours will be counted toward the final total.
Section 1: Classroom Implementation
- Instructors create their accounts and then dive deep into the instructor and student dashboards, storylines, and how decisions are made to understand the mechanics of their and their students' roles.
- In groups instructors detail classroom and implementation strategies for in-person, online, and hybrid class structures that lead to student achievement and attendance.
- As a cohort, instructors decide on a 5 standards that are required by the course they teach. These 5 standards will guide breakout groups to create activities or assignments that link the simulation to one or more of the standards.
- Instructors revise their class syllabus to include activities of their own or other instructors from their cohort that are uploaded to our Instructor Forum.
- Lastly, instructors create an Implementation Plan that lays out a detailed path to administer a simulation in their class.
Section 2: Simulation Training
- Instructors sign up for the simulation as if they are students and for the next 5 turns, we spend 30 min together carrying out decisions.
- Between the turns, instructors will create new activities that line up with this specific concepts being brought to life and continually touch up their syllabus.
- The final week, instructors will present a Debrief Presentation in groups to understand the motivations of all of the positions and to reflect on the overall training.
